Abstract
Knowledge sharing is a fundamental knowledge management process that supports organizational learning. This study employed a systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the relationship between knowledge sharing and organizational learning and examine its heterogeneity and robustness. From 48 initially identified records, eligible quantitative studies providing sufficient statistical information were selected. Pearson correlation coefficients were converted to Fisher’s z and pooled using a random-effects model. Heterogeneity, moderators, sensitivity, and publication bias were also examined. The results indicated a positive and significant relationship between knowledge sharing and organizational learning, although its magnitude varied across studies. Differences in the conceptualization and measurement of the variables, sample characteristics, organizational contexts, and study methodologies were potential sources of this variation. Tacit and explicit knowledge sharing, as well as knowledge donating and collecting, were also associated with organizational learning. Overall, fostering a knowledge-sharing culture, employee trust and interaction, knowledge exchange infrastructure, and managerial support may help strengthen organizational learning capacity. The findings highlight the need to consider the forms of knowledge sharing and organizational contexts in research and managerial interventions.
